Today I joined Sacha Rose (Derek Rose) and Adam White (Factory Design) for the panel “British Luxury in a Digital World Panelist”, moderated by Shaun Borstrock for the London Residency of Parsons Executive Education.
We defined luxury and the contradictions of luxury brands today in their articulation of luxury. We considered the impact of country branding on the perception of the luxury quality of products. We evaluated how luxury manifests in the first class of an airplane, or in cozy leisurewear. We delved into the meanings of standards and ethics, whether these are just empty marketing words or they can be engrained in products’ design and production.
