Digital Fashion Week London | Takeaways

I had a great time yesterday afternoon at the Digital Fashion Week London, listening to experts and creatives and their reflections about the state and evolution of digital technology, fashion and human experience.

I have been exploring the relationship between technology and the luxury industry for the past year or so, focussing on the ways through which technology can articulate and push a new vocabulary of luxury, but also on the extant challenges to the process, mainly revolving around the technological illiteracy – real or perceived – of brands and audiences.

I was pleased to hear that tech-companies are now bridging this gap: developers are focussing to provide brands and creatives with user-friendly tools, empowering them to deliver their value in the new ecosystem; at the same time platforms are looking to implement an inclusivity agenda to welcome on the space a variety of communities, and encourage active participation and co-creation.
